The Lucky Juan got it's start as an "off-spring" of Juan's Swerte Lotto.
Juan's Swerte Lotto provides lottery results and numerous number tools for the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) drawings. The PCSO is the government owned and operated lottery for the country of the Philippines.
As an American vacationing in the Philippines (for the last 7 years) I started, programmed and maintain the website SwerteLotto.com
Swerte Lotto
actually provides more historical and statistical information than the PCSO. The PCSO shows historical information back the last ten years; whereas, Swerte Lotto has information dating back to the beginning of the Philippine lottery... 2002.
So I thought... "why not expand this concept for other lotteries"? Hence... The Lucky Juan was born.
Who is Juan?
Well, Juan is a pretty cool dude. Much like Americans have "John Doe" or your everyday average "Joe Blow", the Filipinos have their version as well... popularly known as "Juan dela Cruz".
Juan is so popular in fact, a Filipino-American named Joseph William Feliciano Smith (born December 25, 1947) more commonly known as Joey Smith or Pepe Smith started a rock-n-roll band in December 1970 named... Juan dela Cruz Band.
Pepe Smith went on to become a rock-n-roll icon and is also known as
"Mick Jagger of the Philiipines". At age 68, he is still a much sought after talent for movies, television shows and product sponsorships.
The name Juan is also used in many cases to represent the word "one". Such as in our case... The Lucky One.
So there you have it. A little background and inside information on Juan and Juan dela Cruz.
Now the question is... Will you be the next Lucky Juan?
